Three girls including Tania Meernai, Aiza Bharchod and Sawera of sixth class from Girls Government High School went to unconscious due to lack of roofing fans in the school. Second, there is also shortage of rooms which have compelled girls of two/three classes to studying together in a single room which caused heat and made students unconscious. It is always happening, but, school management has not taken initiatives to improve its conditions by arranging fans etc. Even, now, school management called doctors for checking girls to give them treatment. Later on, those girls were asked to go to their homes.

Sudden visits of schools by district officer education above 30 teachers suspended in district Sanghar
Different schools including Government High School Maqsoodo Rind, Lundo, Sarhari and other schools were made sudden visits by district education officer Yar Mohammad Baladi in Taluka Shahdadpur, district Sanghar. Absent teachers were indentified and salaries of suspended teachers were stopped. DO education said, while talking to media persons, that on the instruction of minster education and secretary education visits to different schools have been and those teachers who are not teaching will be punished accordingly.

Boys primary school Menho Depar, Saniani, Wariani, Lalo Machhi and many others are closed since last couple of years. Local influential persons have occupied school buildings and have turned these building into dairy farms and guest house, locally called into Otaq. Children of these villages have been made deprived from their basic right to education. SMS funds are being misutilized. District administration and education department have turned their blind eyes towards the closure of the schools and are not ready to take actions against all those who are involved.

Villagers of Gharhi Hassan protested for Opening School

Anti-Corruption could not get record of above billion Rupees corruption in education Department in District Qamber Shahdadkot
Former EDO education had promoted above 300 persons on fake account in district Qamber Shahdadkot. Fake appointments and above one billion corruptions is recorded in district Qamber Shahdadkot. Case is being handled by anti corruption department, but, record is not provided to the related officers. Letter is sent to Minister Education, Secretary and A G Sindh for providing required records but only treasury department has provided lists, Parial Moriyo has said. Finance department of Sindh Government has closed above 1000 IDs of teachers who are illegally appointed, including 450 of Qamber Shahdadkot. Sudden visits of closed schools by EDO in district Thatta
Mr Gul Ashiq Memon, EDO and Mr Sultan Barhani Supervisor visited Buri Makan, Badel Baber and Yaqoob Brohis’ primary schools of UC Jhamper and Jharik and found many teachers absent from their duties. EDO suspended many teachers on the spot and said those teachers who are not teaching, but, getting their salaries would not be tolerated.

Education official, contractor held
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has taken into custody a senior official of the education department and a contractor for alleged misappropriation of government funds. NAB officials said on Monday they had filed a reference about embezzlement of Rs400 million released to the Directorate of Education Balochistan for procurement of furniture, scientific equipment, and reading, writing and other material. “On suo motu notice of Director General NAB Balochistan, investigations into the matter revealed that Director Nizamuddin Mengal in connivance with Additional Director Irfan Mohammad Khan and contractor Shabbir Ahmed, proprietor of Lashar Traders Quetta, misappropriated government funds on a large scale,” they said. Mr Mengal and Mr Ahmed were taken into custody.

Now, schools to reopen on 4th
The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has rescheduled the reopening of the government schools and colleges in the city yet again. Now, these educational institutions will resume activities after summer vacations on September 4. Also, local private schools and colleges have announced they will follow suit. The development comes in light of blockades on the city roads due to the prolonged PTI and PAT sit-ins against the PML-N government outside parliament house and as well as the occupation of many school and college buildings by personnel of the law-enforcement agencies called in from different parts of the country to maintain law and order in the city.

Thin attendance at schools
A thin attendance was recorded at educational institutions particularly schools of the provincial metropolis on Monday in the wake of prevailing political situation. The schools especially those situated near The Mall recorded thin attendance of the students while a few private schools also remained closed. A number of parents talking to The News said owing to prevailing uncertainty and to avoid any untoward situation because of protests call by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) together with expected rain they preferred not sending their children to schools on Monday.

Move to shift medical college from Sukkur opposed
Stakeholders, mainly traders, have strongly opposed the move to shift the Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College (GMMMC) from Sukkur to any other place in the province. The move was discussed at separate meetings of the All Sukkur Small Traders & Cottage Industry Organisation, Sukkur Small Traders Association, Paramedical Staff Union, Bandhani Welfare Organisation and several social and rights organisations over the past few days. Leaders of these organisations expressed their strong reservations over the reports that a plan to shift the medical college to some other town. They noted with concern that faculty was being transferred from Sukkur to Rohri bypass with a view to finally close down the college’s present campus. They urged the chief minister and other relevant authorities not to consider any such proposal as the college fulfilled the government’s desire of providing medical eduction to a large number of male and female students from rural areas at their doorstep.
