Alif Ailaan is a campaign for education reform in Pakistan. We work with parents, politicians and education providers to bring about meaningful and lasting change in Pakistan’s system of education.
Who We Are
Launched in February 2013, Alif Ailaan is a campaign that seeks to put education at the front and centre of public discourse in Pakistan. Our goal is to get every Pakistani girl and boy into school, keep them learning and ensure that they receive a quality education.
The campaign is run by a small team of media and strategic communications specialists with experience from across the world. We are funded by the UK Department for International Development.
We work in all four provinces of Pakistan as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Islamabad Capital Territory.
Our network of education activists is spread across more than 70 districts.
Our office is located in Islamabad.
We support a range of civil society organisations working for education reform
Our partners include non-governmental organisations, think tanks and research organisations, and rural support programmes. We also work closely with ministries of the federal and provincial governments, government agencies and policy makers.
Our friends and supporters are spread across the country and include parents, teachers, politicians, educationists, policy makers, media analysts, journalists, celebrities and ordinary Pakistanis concerned about the state of education in Pakistan.
