School bombed

Unidentified persons blew up a private school in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency on Wednesday, tribal sources said. The sources said that the unknown miscreants had planted an explosive device near the entrance of the school that went off in Bar Qambarkhel.

ICU teachers, students call off protest as admin agrees to demands

Mardan varsity signs MoU with South Korean university

The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the College of Veterinary Medicine of Seoul National University, South Korea. The Seoul National University was established in 1946 and it is ranked 36 worldwide while it is the 8th best university in Asia.

Teachers will be recruited on merit

The Secretary Education said that recruitments of teachers are being done based on merit. In the past, however, recruitments were done based on political patronage and nepotism. He added that data on ghost schools in the province has also been compiled by the provincial government and strict measures are being taken against the identified schools.

Ghost Teachers

More than 42,000 primary schools in Pakistan lack the basic facility of clean drinking water. In Sindh, the number of schools lacking clean drinking water facility is 21,771, in KP it is 7680 and in Balochistan, there are almost 5000 students who do not have access to clean drinking water in schools.
