‘KP govt spending over RS430 million on children’s institute’

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is spending more than Rs430 million on the much-publicised Zamung Kor Institute to cater to the needs of about 1000 street children in the province, leaving a mere amount of Rs93 million to be spent on 25 other welfare projects during the current and next financial years of 2016-18.

580 Schools in Qila Saifullah

Students protest against CDA

200 schools, colleges to be upgraded in six months

Medical college case: LHC seeks record from govt to issue NOC

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Ayesha A Malik has sought record from the federal government about issuance of no objection certificate (NOC) to establish a medical college. Plan chalked out for free text books distribution

Lahore—The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has chalked out textbooks distribution plan for the upcoming academic year 2016-17. These books will be provided free of cost to the school partners for their subsequent distribution in the students. 13-year girl raped by class teacher

A 13-year girl was raped by her class teacher in school of Nao Abad village in Bakrani taluka. The victim girl revealed this when her ultrasound and urine reports were detected positive having nine weeks pregnancy. OUP announces Winners of OBR awards

No compromise will be made on security of educational institutions: Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar

District Quetta: The Spokesperson Baluchistan Government Mr. Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that the security of educational institutions have become a question mark after attack on Bacha Khan University. He said special security policy for educational institutions is under process and will provide full proof security once completed, adding that all political parties and Government officials are on unanimous platform for countering this issue.

All government schools to be handed over to private sector

District Rahim Yar Khan: The Government of the Punjab has decided to hand over all Government Primary and Secondary Schools to the private sector.  The handing over of the schools will be done by the year 2017 through District Education authorities who will have the powers to hire and fire teachers and other Staff, increase in Fees, Pension Rules, vacations and holiday rules and registration of schools.

Private school charging two months advance fees

District Rahim Yar Khan: A resident of Sadiqabad and a former Councilor has alleged that Bismillah Higher Secondary School Management has threatened the parents to pay 2 months advance fee otherwise roll number slips of students will not be issued for the Matriculation Examinations.  The students were being asked by the management to pay the fees for the months of March and April in advance.

All students to ensure 95 per cent attendance

District Rahim Yar Khan: The Government of the Punjab has decided to ensure 95 per cent attendance of all students from Nursery to Intermediate.  The head teachers or the class teachers who will not be able to ensure 95 per cent of attendance will be punished by a fine or deduction of a full month salary.

77 years old School building could collapse any time

District Rahim Yar Khan: The Government Boys High School was established in 1938 and the building was never repaired, renovated or reconstructed after that.  The parents have feared that the 77 years old building could collapse any time and cause a major accident and harm the lives of the hundreds of students.  The parents have demanded the construction of a new building for the school.

Lahore High Court stays the transfer orders of a teacher

District Bahawalpur: The Lahore High Court Bahawalpur Bench has stayed the transfer orders of Mohammed Qasim, a school teacher.  Mohammed Qasim had filed a petition that his transfer orders were against the transfer policy.  The High Court issued orders to stop his Transfer.

High School Girls forced to sit under huts

District Dera Ghazi Khan: The building of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mahana Hamdani was declared dangerous in 2005 and Government of the Punjab had told the DCO to inspect the building and get it reconstructed in 2014, but so far the building has not been reconstructed and the girls are compelled to sit under huts to continue their Education.

District Larkana: A four class student, Rafia Kalhoro was physically abused by her school teacher at Government School village Nao Abad, near Taluka Bakrani Larkana.
