Mansehra Council Asks Government Not to Shut down FEF Girls College

The Tehsil Council of Mansehra, on Thursday adopted a unanimous resolution, asking the provincial government to withdraw its order to close down the Frontier Education Foundation (FEF) Girls College here.  “The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has adopted a discriminatory attitude with the people of Mansehra, ordering the closure of FEF Girls College, which would destroy the future of over 175 girl students studying there,” councillor Raja Ayaz told the council in its session held with convener Mohsin Waqar in the chair.

GCU Lahore Clinches Trophy in Declamation Contest

The Government College University, Lahore, clinched the overall trophy in the 20th “All Pakistan Burn Hall Bilingual Declamation Contest” on Thursday. Over 60 students consisting of 30 teams from different renowned colleges and universities participated in the initial round. Five best teams, including Military College of Signals, Cadet College Hassanabdal, Cadet College Kohat, Pakistan Military Academy Kakul and Government College University, Lahore, qualified for the final round.

Decision to Close Schools with Less than 50 Students

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to shut down the government schools having less than 50 students. Upper Dir and Swat’s district education officers have issued notifications in this regard urging headmasters of the government schools to expedite their efforts to increase students’ strength in their schools within one month.

The provincial ombudsman has sacked an employee of a government school over dishonesty in Dera Ghazi Khan on Thursday. IBA Student Claims Rangers Manhandled Him

A social sciences student at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) has claimed he was ‘tortured’ by Rangers officials Monday morning ‘for taking pictures of a traffic jam to convince his teacher for being late to class’.
