The officials of the Education Department in Lakki Marwat violated the court orders by not placing a petitioner on a driver’s post. Talking to The News here, Shahid Gul, son of Abdur Rahim, belonging to Haqdadabad in Lakki Marwat district, said that he had also applied for the post of driver advertised by the district education authorities on May 11, 2010.

Red tape: Over 80% CADD education, health budget unutilised

Over 80 per cent of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) budget for the education and health sectors went unutilised in the previous financial quarter year. 600 Pakistani students to return from Cuba as doctors

Two schools given three days to enforce security SOPs

The city administration on Wednesday gave three days to two government schools, one for boys and the other for girls, to take proper security measures. On Wednesday, a police team headed by inspector Wasim Faraz, visited the schools and found that they were not following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for security and sealed the schools. However, the schools later opened.

CM takes notice of mismanagement in class-V exams

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the mismanagement in Class-V examination and have ordered an immediate investigation of the matter. Parents of a few children said it was the carelessness of the government and PEF should timely informed them about the cancellation of the paper. Punjab Teachers Union said that students were being fooled and their future were at stake with such nonsense and it’s the utter responsibility of the government to conduct examination on time.

Security woes – police to clampdown on unsecure institutes

The local administration has asked police to take action against 113 education institutes after they failed to put in place proper security arrangements to safeguard their students and the teaching staff. This included hiring trained security guards, raising eight feet tall boundary walls, installing CCTV cameras, etc., but after a lapse of more than two months, around 113 schools and colleges have still not been able to implement the security regime.

District Sukkur: Five hundred and Ninety staff of different colleges of Sukkur region is working without salary since 37 months due to non-compliance of Director Colleges Sukkur. Primary School building in worst condition

District Sanghar: The building of Primary School village Deputy is completely decayed and its different pieces are falling; it is not repaired since 20 years. The villagers have briefed that it is destroyed 20 years ago, but in the floods of 2011 it is greatly affected and they have protested for its repairing. The higher authorities have been informed many times about the condition of the school, but nothing positive is seemed and due to that about 250 children of the village are deprived of getting Primary Education.

Thousands of School in Sindh under basic facility problems: Education Seminar

District Thatto: A seminar on the condition of Education was organized at Gharo District Thatto where it is clearly highlighted that due to corruption in Education Budget, Political involvement, low budget, Ghost teachers and violation in recruitment on merit basis. According to UNO terms of utilization of budget and it’s saving for Education, the total budget for Education is up to 4%, but in Sindh the condition is below than average. The total number of Schools in Sindh is 49500, where 44500 are Primary and 4900 are middle and secondary. But out of that 22000 Schools are lacking basic facilities of Drinking Water, 24000 are under shortage of electricity, whereas 18000 are non-functional and most of them are sitting places and grain stores. Four Million Children, out of Eleven Million are enroll in the schools, and out of that only 39% Children got to schools; only 76% children reach up to matric class, 66% are unable to write in their own mother tongue; 78% are unable to solve simple mathematics; 75% are unable to speak and write English Subject; 62% do not attend schools. The total number of teachers is one 145000, one lac and forty six, where 50000 do not attend Schools; 80% teachers are unable to write in English language; 36% Teachers are unable to speak English, Sindhi and Solve Mathematics; whereas District Thato is on 140 number in overall 144 Districts; whereas in Sindh it is on 22 number in overall 23 districts.

Police arrests Director Education in corruption case

Karachi: The Director Education Mr. Wahab Abbasi is arrested by Anti Corruption Police along with his Assistant Mr. Sageer Wasti on their exposition of corruption of Millions of rupees in Education Department; whereas, the Director Anti Corruption has highlighted that billions of budget is drawn from the accounts.

Shah Abdul Latif University Under Corruption

District Khaipur Mirs: Due to Political involvement in Shah Abdul Latif University the condition of University has touched corruption. The problem of PhD of the Students is on the top; The PhD Teachers are busy and engaged in Administrative Posts and do not teach their concerned subjects of PhD to the Students; whereas the university Buses are running on fair and students have to face problem of transportation to reach university; newly recruited staff is promoted instead of old staff. The Officers Association leaders have told that Vice Chancellors are appointed through monopoly and political influence.

Benazir University Students arrange Seminar on Mother Tongue

District Nawabshah: The Students of Education Department at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University organized a seminar on the importance of mother and tongue and mother language. It was highlighted in the seminar that Sindhi language is standard language of Pakistan because of its alphabet and grammar.

Citizens protest against privatization of Poly Technique College Tando Muhammad Khan

The citizens of Tando Muhammad Khan have stood against Government Decision of Privatization of Poly Technique College Tando Muhammad Khan. The college was running since 26 years and providing Educational services to 300 students and now it is being privatized. The residents have demanded from Government to take back decision of Privatization of the collage, otherwise they would expand their protest.
