The district steering committee on education has asked the women district education officer to merge non-functional schools into functional ones and initiate disciplinary proceedings against habitual absent teachers. Boys top Mardan HSSC exam results

The top three positions were clinched by students of the Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College Swabi in the higher secondary schools certificate examination result 2016, as declared by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mardan on Friday. The results were announced by board chairman Prof Mushtaq Ahmad at a function. He said the top three position holders belonged to the science group.

Vice Chancellors appointments found to be politically biased

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Zafar Iqbal Jhagra on Saturday returned a summary for the appointment of vice-chancellors, terming it a politically biased appointment by the PTI provincial government. An official told Daily Times that Governor Zafar Jhagra returned the summary to the PTI government asking it to reconsider the appointments. The governor termed the appointments against merit and without political basis, the official said on condition of anonymity.

Befooling of new college students banned in Khyber Agency

Political Tehsildar Irshad Khan has banned befooling of newly admitted students in Landikotal and Khyber government degree colleges. The Tehsildar warned that anyone found in befooling the new students within or outside the college premises would face heavy fine, besides being sent to lock-up. It may be mentioned that the Khyber Agency political administration has deputed Khasadar Force personnel around the colleges to curb befooling of new students by the old ones.

Poor QAU infrastructure fails to match international level universities

India downgrades Pakistan to ‘no school-going mission’

More than 60 schoolchildren of Indian diplomatic staff would not resume their classes from next quarter under a recent decision taken by New Delhi for multiple reasons, official sources told Daily Times. The Indian government has declared Pakistan a “No School-Going Mission,” asking the staff members of the Indian High Commission (IHC) to either return or send their school going children back to India. The campuses are closed owing to summer vacation, and the sources confirmed the young Indian nationals would not attend the school when they open next month. The decision has sent shockwaves to Pakistani diplomatic circles, which fear it would further strain the already strained relations between the two South Asian neighbors.

AIOU to provide academic support to Wafaq-ul-Madaris

Students to be issued computerized ID cards in Punjab

The children who would get admissions in the schools would be issued computerized identity cards that would help prevent fake admissions in the schools or colleges in the Punjab province. According to the minutes of the meeting held under the chairmanship of Director Public Instruction Punjab the computerized identity cards to the students would be issued in all the districts including Rawalpindi. The identity cards would carry the bio-data and all the relevant information about the student that would enable the administration of the schools to check the history of their educational career.

The future of private schools set up by the PakTurk International Schools and Colleges network plunged into uncertainty a day after Turkey’s ambassador called on the Pakistan government to close down all the institutions backed by the Fethullah Gulen-inspired Hizmet movement. Sindh University’s hostels inspected by vice chancellor

Vice-chancellor of Karachi university professor doctor Muhammad Sadiq kalhoro visited the university hostels and examined the facilities provided by the administration to the residing students.
