Interactive whiteboards installed at 100 govt schools

Interactive whiteboards have been installed at 100 government higher secondary schools across the province to ensure new and improved teaching methods are introduced into classrooms. Alif Ailaan Regional Coordinator Umar Orakzai said the introduction of interactive whiteboards will serve as a positive step that could change the fate of education at government schools.

23 students injured as school`s stairs collapse

Twenty-three students were injured when stairs of a private school collapsed on Sunday night on Khangarh Road, 15km from the city. The incident took place at Misali Public Middle School in Dinpur where students were sleeping on the roof.

Court issues warrants for arrest of FDE DG

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued bailable arrest warrants for the director general of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Monday for not appearing before the court. The FDE purchased furniture from the petitioner in 2012 but has not yet paid for the goods because its funds had lapsed in that fiscal year.

57.37pc pass BA, BSc exams under GCUF

The Government College University of Faisalabad announced the BA/BSc results of the first annual composite examination 2015 here on Monday. As many as 10,546 students appeared in the examination and 6,050 of them were declared successful with a pass percentage of 57.37.

Unreliable results of ninth class in Punjab

Punjab teachers union has said that Education Boards of Punjab have produced unreliable results for Ninth Class. They are claiming that it is not possible to have 80% pass percentage for tenth grade but only 40% for ninth grade from the same school in the same year.

Buildings of 36 govt schools in TT Singh declared dangerous

Amendments in M.A. Exam rules

The Punjab University has changed the existing rules for MA and MSc examinations. The changes will take effect from the 2016 annual examinations. Under the new regulations, students can take composite exams. Students can now take the MA Part 1 and 2 exams in a single year or in two years.

The girls’ section of a private school in Defence Housing Society has been sealed for violating rules and regulations. Seminary student ‘killed by teachers’

Police arrested a seminary teacher on Monday after a student was brought to Faisalabad Allied Hospital late on Sunday night with serious injuries. The boy died a few hours later. The nine-year-old Adnan Ali, son of Tahir Mehmood, was a student of a seminary in Mohallah Usman Ghani on Bund Road. He said on Sunday, his teachers had beaten him.

Two medics who humiliated teacher penalised

The King Edward Medical University on Monday expelled two young doctors for humiliating a senior teacher of the institute. Sindh govt ready to replace 61 federal laws

The Sindh chief minister was informed on Monday that the provincial government is working to replace 61 federal laws with the provincial ones in compliance with the 18th amendment to the Constitution. The federal laws to be replaced with the provincial laws are on compulsory education, mother languages as compulsory additional subject at primary level, supervision of curriculum textbooks and maintenance of standard of education and child marriage prohibition among others.

Peshawar: Provincial Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has given independent financial rights to principals of Higher Secondary Schools which allow them to spend 14 lac 76 thousands Rupees to fulfill basic requirements. 500 million have been invested on this project, so now the school management can use that amount on the construction of the school and also fulfill the requirements of students so that they won’t face any difficulty in seeking education.

Primary school building construction pending for 6 months

District Bahawalpur: Ms. Sobia, a student of M.Sc. Physical Education, was not issued a roll number slip for final Examination on grounds of low attendance.  The said Student file a writ in the Lahore High Court, the High Court ordered the Islamia University to issue the Roll Number Slip to the Student. The Roll No Slip was issued, but yesterday when she went to the Examination Hall, the Superintendent did not allow her to appear in paper.  The College Principal said that the medical certificate presented by the Student was rejected by the Medical Board of the Islamia University.
