Elementary Education Foundation: 300 community schools to reopen by April

Around 300 community schools for girls would be made operational by April. This was said at a meeting of Elementary Education Foundation (EEF) in Peshawar on Tuesday. EEF is an autonomous government organisation to support the informal education sector.

No High School for girls in entire Alai Tehsil

Even in this modern era of science and technology, the girls of tehsil Alai have been deprived of higher education as there is no state-run girls’ high school for over 300,000 population of the area. The only high school for girls that was built by a non-governmental organisation in 2015 is yet to be made functional.

161 sensitive schools to get arms licenses  

Under the directives of Punjab government, education department of Rawalpindi district has issued forms to 161 sensitive schools of the city for supply of arms to them. Licenses would be issued in the names of heads of these schools. The education department has directed the headmasters of these schools to fill in the forms and file them in arms branch of DCO office so that arms licenses could be issued to them for security purposes in schools.

Up gradation of public schools Lauded

Govt. plans standard education in capital schools

The government is all set to provide international standard IT education in the public schools of the federal capital. In this regard CISCO has agreed to train teachers, who will impart training to grade six and above students, while Microsoft will provide assistance to the junior level schools from class one to five and will also provide downloadable content related to ICT free of cost, the ministry of IT announced on Tuesday.

QAU top in HEC’s yearly rankings

Out of 73 higher education institutions in the general category, the Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) has topped the rankings issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Tuesday, followed by University of Punjab and National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in second and third place, respectively. Class one child fainted at beating of a teacher

District Rahim Yar Khan: Shahzeb son of Shah Jahan, resident of Chak No.143/Abbasia is a Student of Class One at Government Elementary School Chak No.148/Abbasia.  The little child was beaten, tortured and fainted by school teacher, Mr. Sultan Ahmed.  The father of the child went to complain the Headmaster and he also got furious and insulted the parents of the child.  The family and residents have appealed the CM to take action against the said teacher.

Supporters of a thief torture Principal

District Rahim Yar Khan: Mr. Asghar Ali, who came to a private school of Chak No.126/P with the intention of conducting a theft was caught by the Principal and other Staff.  After some time the supporters of the thief Asghar Ali arrived at the school and tortured the Principal badly. The attackers were carrying weapons.  There was a panic among the children.

Headmistress sells school trees

District Layyah: The Headmistress of Primary School Chak No.147/A/TDA sold out trees of the school in Rs.20, 000/- to some local person.  The Headmistress refuted the charges and said that she was the only teachers for 80 girls and the opponents were defaming her.

School at Indus Queen closed down

District Dera Ghazi Khan: The school that was set up in the 70 year old Indus Queen Ship for the children of fishermen community has been closed down.  The Children complained that they daily come to the school, but the teachers are always absent.  The School was set up 10 months ago but teachers have never been available for the children.

Students demand for schools building

District Dera Ghazi Khan: The Government Boys Primary School Zahoorabad Bolani, Tehsil Taunsa Sharif is being run in a boundary wall without a building.
