Five students and their teacher were injured in a roof collapse here on Wednesday in Mujahidabad Colony. Reports said five students of Class-I and their teacher Rehana Tabassum were present in the classroom of Mujahidabad girls primary school when its roof collapsed.

Assistant Commissioner takes action against land grabbers to vacate school land
District Khanewal: Assistant Commissioner Abid Hussain Bhatti, on the instructions of DCO Khalid Mahmood Sheikh, initiated an action against the land grabbers to get the land of Government High School Chak No.93/10-R vacated and demolished all the illegal constructions. The school land had been grabbed 15 years ago by the land grabbers.

5.4 Milliion Pakistani children out of school, Pakistan lags behind in South Asia –UNESCO Report
District Islamabad: According to the latest UNESCO Report, Pakistan lags much behind in South Asian in the area of education and literacy. The report said that 5.4 Million children do not go to school, few children reach class 10, only 33% children in Balochistan can read Urdu and Baluchi story books, in Punjab 63% children can read Urdu and Punjab story books, Pakistan has failed to achieve its literacy target that it was to achieve by 2015, which included school enrollment, cutting illeteracy to half, and providing equal opportunities to boys and girls for education. The report said that Pakistan could only achieve its literacy targets by increasing education funds, improving educational standards, eliminating gener bias, access to educational institutions, and creating friendly atmosphere in schools.

School roof caves in, 6 children trapped under rubble

School roof collapsed; a student injured
District Sanghar: Government Higher Secondary School building is near to collapse. Recently its roof has tumbled and a student is injured. The student was shifted to hospital. While listening to the news on injured student, E.D.O Mr. Yaar Muhammad Baladi visited the hospital and inquired from the student. On the occasion he said that 1100 Schools were affected due to floods of 2011, but since then they are not repaired and the report is sent to Secretary Education.
