Students in Kabal protest over admission woes

Over 300 students from Kabal tehsil launched a protest on Thursday over being denied admission into various colleges across Swat district. NGO eyes to enroll 135K children in schools

The Children’s Global Network carried out the workshop to train 100 members of the mohalla (local) committees — a civil society initiative that involves influential and prominent persons of a specified area — under the project ‘ILMPOSSIBLE-Take A Child to School.’ The project aims to enroll 135,000 out of school children in government schools and retain at least 80 per cent of them so that they can complete their primary education.

Polyclinic dispensary has nursing school

Completed at a cost of Rs40 million, a Nursing School was inaugurated at the Federal Government Polyclinic (FGPC) dispensary in Sector G-7-3/4. No electricity in 4500 schools of Punjab

The Provincial Schools Education Department Punjab has decided to give school heads in Rawalpindi the authority to spend funds according as per their discretion. Tutor confesses he abused schoolgirls for ‘sex education’

The 50-year-old tutor arrested Wednesday for raping and filming young Lahore schoolgirls last night told The Nation he had abused them for “sex education”. According to Tharparkar district education department, there are 3,113 boys` primary schools, 602 girls` primary schools, 231 middle schools for boys and 13 for girls. OPF Peshawar could not initiate poly trade training course for the last 10 years

Old School Buildings to be demolished by constructing new ones

District Dera Ghazi Khan: DCO Dera Ghazi Khan said in a meeting that old buildings of schools in Dera Ghazi Khan will be demolished and new ones will be constructed.  He added that 273 Schools in Dera Ghazi Khan are dangerous, 109 in poor condition, and 31 schools are repairable.  He said the survey of dangerous school buildings should be completed in two days and the notices be issued to vacate buildings.

Teachers association can be banned: Secretary Education

Larkana: The Secretary Education Mr. Fazal Ul Allah Pechuho has said during his visit at Government Girls High School Fish Market Naudero that teachers associations can be banned with the cooperation of civil society. While adding that shortage of head masters in schools will be sufficed after recruitment of 2000 Head Masters through the NTS examination. He also declared that no ghost schools are present in Sindh, but where there is a need of only one school, there are more than 8 schools.

Primary Teachers Association agitates against Secretary Education

District Mirpur Khas: The P.T.Alif members from Mirpur gathered before the press club under Mr. Liaquat Dedar against Secretary Education Mr. Fazal Ul Allah Pechuho. On the occasion Mr. Dedar said that Secretary Education is forming anti teachers policies, most teachers were not provided time scale and other allowances. They demanded for the removal of the secretary.

NTS test pass teachers protested for salaries

District Naushehro Feroz: NTS pass Teachers from Mehrabpur protested before Taluka Education Office for their salaries. They cried that salaries were not issued for seven months. It was declared during the protest that secretary education is against Sindh education. They also threatened that if their salaries were not issued up to 24th August, they would go against the Naushehro Feroz Office.

Seventy percent schools in Kacho nonfunctional due to carelessness of the education department

District Dadu: The distant attitude and carelessness of the education department has led to more than 70% schools of Kacho in Drigh Bala to be closed. Most of the school buildings are standing idle without furniture and other necessary material. Teachers are unwilling to attend these schools but continue to get their salaries. The nearby residents of the villages have demanded for restoration of schools, otherwise protests would be held.

Survey in Sindh on standard education

Karachi: Idra e Taleem o Aghahi has announced to form a survey on standard education in Sindh province. For that a meeting was held in Karachi where a member of the organization Ms. Bela Raza declared that ASAR is going to survey the education of Pakistan and according to it 20 houses would be surveyed in a village, where standard of education of the children would be counted. She also added that ASAR has started to collect the data of the year 2015 which will be displayed on 17th December.

Hyderabad: A seminar on the security arrangements in educational institutes was organized by social organization Roots Work Foundation in a local hotel. It was declared in the seminar that education was affected due to staying of flood affected people in educational institutes and government did not take any steps. Provincial wealth department issues notification regarding teachers’ promotions

Karachi: Provincial wealth department has issued notification regarding the promotions of Primary teachers. The notification declares that those teachers would be promoted according to their time scales that were appointed in scale 9 and with intermediate education, whereas the same point was not mentioned before 2008; so most of the teachers are deprived of their promotions. On the other hand P.T.Alif member Mr. Intizar Chilgiri told media that Provincial wealth minister has ensured to reissue notification within a week.

Sindh High Court issued notification against illegal announcement of teachers’ promotions

District Qamber: Sindh High Court has issued a notice to Secretary Education and Director Education Larkana on stoppage of salaries of teachers and calling their promotions illegal. The petitioners had mentioned that 242 teachers’ promotions were announced illegal. The court has demanded the payment back on 26th August.
