Security of educational institutes a top priority

Mardan: Security officials have made a statement saying that all possible measures are being taken to make educational institutes secure and to provide students with the best possible environment. Students protest against absence of teachers

Bannu: Students of Kot Bilawar Khan have protested against the absence of teachers at the local Government Primary School. Although the school strength is relatively low, there are still no teachers available for students. According to a protester there are 90 students currently studying at the school, but only 3 teachers are actually available, who charge students with exorbitant amounts in exchange for teaching them the schoolwork.

Ghani issues apology to students

Peshawar: Special Assistant to the CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani paid a surprise visit to Government Girls Colleges Pabbi on Wednesday and presented an apology to students over insufficient staff and inefficiency of the college administration. Taking strong note of college administration’s inability to overcome staff shortage, the Government spokesman transferred the Principal and suspended three officials for their absence. The suspended staff included a Lab Assistant of the Chemistry department, Lab Attendant and a gardener. Ghani expressed annoyance over the inefficiency of the Directorate of Colleges for not fulfilling the demand of staff and other requirements.

Salaries of absent teachers suspended: Jhao

District Awaran: EDO Awaran has suspended salaries of several absent teachers in Jhao. Textbooks have been delivered to the DC office and teachers have been ordered to collect books and distribute them; however, any teacher who is unable to collect books will be considered absent from his duty. EDO said legal action will be taken against the absent teachers.

District Loralai: Senior SSTs have made a statement that Minister for Education and Secretary Education only can notice absenteeism of teachers but are unable to gauge educational backwardness in the form of unavailability of textbooks, junior appointments over senior posts and non-implementation of native languages in the education system. Khuzdar Medical College inactive due to political interference: Luqman Zehri

District Khuzdar: President of Women Development Educational Society, Mr. Nouman Zehri and General Secretary, Mr. Zubair Jan Zehri have expressed concerns over the inactiveness of Khuzdar Medical College due to political interference. They said that the principal and project director have turned the college into an experimental lab; nepotism in appointments is their expertise. Transfers causing problems for students

District Multan: Due to poor performance and high dropout rate of students, many head teachers across Punjab, including the Multan District, have been transferred to other divisions already producing good results. District Rahim Yar Khan: The local community of Bangla Minthar has made a statement that a lack of head teachers, science and art teachers, clerks and domestic help at Boys School Bangla Minthar since an extended period is causing severe inconvenience to students at the school. Teachers’ scarcity is deteriorating the future of students and the nation. An increase in dropout rate and decline in academic standing of students is currently being observed at the school. Students protest against Inter Board and block road in Bahawalpur

Karachi: Education Minister Sindh Jaam Mehtab Dahar has said that a meeting will be organized with private school management, so that Sindhi language can be taught from class three onwards. Director General Private Institutions has already issued a notification to private institutions.
