University of Peshawar has achieved its highest position in the Higher Education Commission ranking in the last five years.

CADD development budget cut by almost 17 per cent

Serve FDE, but don’t ask for money

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) is yet to pay Rs 34.2 million to traders who supplied equipment around three years ago. The traders had moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Issuing an order in their favour, the court said, “The court find the petitioner satisfactory and order to the institution for paying outstanding amount fortnightly.” However, the authorities concerned have taken no action.

370 teachers promoted  under CM’s package

As many as 370 teachers from the Rawalpindi District have been promoted under the chief minister (CM) package. As per details, 141 male and 58 female senior elementary school teacher (EST) from the Rawalpindi District have been promoted from BPS 14 to BPS 15 under the CM package and 72 male and 80 female EST teachers from BPS 14 to BPS 16.

Partner schools: ‘Maintain 1:35 teacher-student ratio’

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has directed its partner schools to ensure availability of classrooms in accordance with the number of students. In a circular issued on Saturday, its partner schools under the Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) are directed to ensure that they have separate rooms in the building for each class. It said no more than 35 students should be accommodated in a room. It also directs the schools to maintain 1:35 teacher to student ratio in their schools.

Shahbaz wants young people to learn Chinese

 A 10-member delegation of scholars led by Ye Hailin, editorial director South Asian Studies of China Academy of Social Sciences, met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday.
