List of demands: Teachers’ council irked by govt’s dilly-dallying

The All Teachers Coordination Council (ATCC) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has announced province-wide protests against the government for delaying the acceptance of their demands. “We asked the government to ensure promotions, hold elections for official teachers’ bodies, have a quota for sons of deceased teachers and to reserve an allowance other than salary,” said ATCC General Secretary Muzammil Khan Tarnabi during a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday.

VCs decry amended universities act tabled in assembly

Vice chancellors (VC) of various public universities of the province have expressed concerns about the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Universities (Amendment) Act 2015 tabled in the provincial assembly on Tuesday, saying powers of chancellors and VCs will be directly affected. In a meeting held on Wednesday at the University of Peshawar, VCs expressed their reservations over the “one-sided” amendments proposed by the government, saying their recommendations had been ignored.

Need stressed to remove hate material from textbooks

There is an urgent need to remove hate material from the textbooks, besides changing attitudinal change of state officials and to develop humane narrative to end intolerance and terrorism from Pakistan. This was the crux of a consultative workshop titled “Improving Status of Non-Muslim Citizens in Pakistan” organised by Pattan Development Organisation that was held in a local hotel. Falling friends: Academic seeks action against PU admin

Punjab University (PU) Law College Faculty Member and Hostel No3 Warden Khujista Rehan exhorted IGP Mustaq Ahmed Sukhera on Wednesday to take action against the varsity administration for the “illegal and immoral” activities going on at girls’ hostels. Rehan claimed that the hall secretary had personally intervened in hostel affairs. ‘Syllabi to promote peace, tolerance’

The Punjab Cabinet has expressed its resolve to defeat terrorism and extremism plaguing the country. BAHAWALNAGAR: Private school owners are protesting against the imposition of commercial fees on buildings by the Bahawalnagar Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA). The quest for good teachers by Abbas Rashid

District Dadu: A Six Class Student Shahnela Mangi of Girls High School Nasirabad is beaten by her Teacher on her late coming. Due to severe corporal punishment her arm is broken; whereas by condemning the inhuman act of Teacher, Parents have protested and have demanded to take action against that female Teacher.

Better steps were taken to promote Girls’ Education: Former Education Minister

District Dadu: The former Education Minister Mr. Pir Mazhar Ul Haq has said while on the visit of Government High School Khair Muhammad Panhwar, Primary School Pir Shahnawaz Ul Haq and Girls School Allah Dino Panhwar that during his tenure of Education Minister better steps were taken to promote girls Education. Protest against School closure

District Naushehro Feroz: The residents of village Allah Dino Panhrwar stood against closure of their Village Primary School. They briefed that school is closed for three years and Teachers are free of duties and getting salary at their homes. They have visited the office of D.E.O Education for restoration of school, but nothing has happened. They demanded to fictionalize the school and save future of their children.

Stagnant water surrounded School building on clash of job in the school

District Badin: The building of High School village Andhlo is surrounded by stagnant water due to landlord of the village. He has discharged water in the school premises by demanding job in the school. Due to that furniture, fans, chairs and other necessary material of the school is stolen away. Villagers told media that 300 students are deprived of getting Education due to closure of school. They said landlord is involved in the school closure.

District Badin: On the name of Extra charges in the Examination forms, students Education is ruined by the School management. Due to corruption of School management and others Education of 14 Students is on the verge of destruction. The extra fees of Examination forms has confined students to their homes and dropping out school; when students deny extra fees they are threaten to be cancelled their admission. Education at District Thatto on worst position: Report

Dsitrict Thatto: A workshop was organized at Makli by Plan Pakistan where Education report was presented. The report declares that condition of Education in District Thatto is on the worst position due to carelessness of Education Department. 15% Students are admitted in the schools where 27% are able to read and write; whereas 50% children of the district are out of schools and 85% Students are insecure in the schools due to their poor condition. Report says that out of 144 Districts of Pakistan and 23 Districts of Sindh, Thatto is on the last number of 22. The budget is spared for Education, but that is not utilized properly and condition is going to be even worse.
