Getting a facelift: German govt gives Rs320m to upgrade 26 schools of K-P

The German government has provided Rs320 million to upgrade 26 primary schools in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). A K-P Elementary and Secondary Education department official said a large number of students were deprived of their right to education in various parts of the province. He added lack of land for schools in several union councils was a major reason many boys and girls could not get an education.

UAF approves new undergraduate admission policy

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Academic Council has approved a new undergraduate admission policy, said UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. Addressing the 277th Academic Council meeting here on Monday, he said that the students would be admitted provisionally to BS, BSc and BBA programmes on the basis of matriculation, first year and entrance test results before the announcement of the intermediate final results. Punjab police disclosure: 1,000 madrassas foreign-funded

After nearly a year-long denial, authorities in the Punjab government have finally admitted that some 17 Muslim and non-Muslim countries were contributing hundreds of millions of rupees to around 1,000 religious seminaries in the province. The disclosure was made by the special branch of Punjab police in a secret document submitted to Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges Senator Col (retd) Tahir Mashhadi on Monday.

Explosive defused near school

A locally made bomb carrying a half kilogramme explosive was defused near a school located in Wah Cantt on Monday. Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Saleem Khattak informed that some students spotted a suspicious bag in a dustbin outside a school and informed the school administration. Later law enforcement agencies rushed to the spot and shifted the suspicious bag to a ground where the bomb disposal squad (BDS) defused the explosive device.

Deadline approaches: Police give 175 madrassas a week to register

Reassured by the response from madrassas, the Hyderabad range police have given a week’s deadline to the remaining 175 unregistered madrassas to fulfil the registration requirements.

100 percent increase in private schools fee

The private schools owners have increased tuition fees in Peshawar and nearby areas. The schools owners are ignoring the directions of Peshawar high court and receiving thousands of fees from the children. Educational improvement is merely a false claim: PSF

QUETTA: Pashtun Students Federation has given a provincial statement that the strengthening of fundamental statues of Educational is the sole solution for the elimination of cheating. The provision of quality of Education will be increase the intellect level of student; if we direct hit the cheating part then we cannot get the required result, due to the cheap system of education in Baluchistan. Inspection team visited Examination centers for 8th Class

District Umer kot: Government Girls Higher Secondary School village Ghulam Nabi Shah is closed due to non-compliance and carelessness of Education Department for five years. District Larkana: During Psychological and Educational Test by IBA Sukkur at High School Ghari Khuda Bux four students were punished on their bad behavior with Teachers and Boycott of the paper. Construction work of Girls Degree College left incomplete

District Umerkot: The construction work of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Girls Degree College is incomplete since years due to non-compliance of contractor. No violence in Registration of School of Sukkur; Education Minister

Karachi: Senior Education Minister Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that no any violation is observed in the Registration of School in Sukkur. While on the question of Nusrat Sahar Abbasi, Member Muslim League N, that, 100 Schools in Sukkur are running without following Government Rule and Regulations!, but Mr. Khuhro said that there are 1200 schools in Sukkur Region and 20 New Schools have been registered and all are following Government rules; and if there is any violation in the registration that must be pointed out and will be treated as per government rules by taking action.

Sindh Agriculture University Teachers and Officers on the roads against Toll Tax collection

Hyderabad: The Teachers, Professors and other Officers of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam protested against Toll Tax Collection.
