90pc schools in KP lack adequate security
Less than 10 percent of the schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have adopted adequate security arrangements to thwart Army Public School-like attacks while the rest are functioning without ensuring protection to kids, a source told The News on Tuesday. The children using school buses and vans everyday are more vulnerable to attacks as none of these vehicles have any kind of security. A cracker attack and threatening letters issued to schools in Karachi on Tuesday has further alarmed the security personnel.
‘Merit ignored’: Govt barred from hiring new primary teachers
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has barred the provincial government from appointing new teachers who hold the Primary Teachers Certificate (PTC) till further notice. Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Muhammad Daud imposed the ban on Tuesday while hearing a petition filed by Muhammad Iqbal Amin through his counsel Muhammad Ijaz Sabi. The lawyer told the court the education department advertised various posts for PTC holders on March 20, 2012.
Importance of technical education underlined
Industrialists, experts and government functionaries on Tuesday underlined the importance of technical and vocational education and training (TVET), saying the rampant unemployment and poverty in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could be reduced by equipping the youth with employable skills. Two weeks on: Police clueless about missing Skardu students
Police still have no clues as to the whereabouts of two college students who disappeared nearly two weeks ago from a village of Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan. 240 lecturers have not received their salaries for the last five months
For the last five months the lecturers of FATA are not receiving their salaries. 3350 male & female lecturers are appointed on adhoc basis in 2011 about 150 lecturers were terminated and appointed public service commission nominated lecturers .The terminated lecturers challenged the case in the high court and told them that they should be regular and also given service structure. So the department restored 120 employees except those 240 lecturers and these lecturers are still performing their duties in the Fata.

Many Schools closed at Bhriya City and Teachers on Visa
District Naushehro Feroz: The Schools of bhriya city are closed since years and government is silent to take nay notice. The schools of village Datu Mangio, Village Mangio, village Allah Warayo Wistro and other villages are closed and the Teachers are on Visa and get their salary without attending schools. Villagers told media that Girls school building was built 12 years ago, but since then no Teachers are coming and building is standing idle. Children have to face difficulty while going to attend nearby schools in other villages. They told that they have complained Education Minister Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro to take notice, but nothing has happened yet. They have shown great concern for opening of the schools and save future of their children.

Teachers appointment process stopped by Government
Karachi: on the Directives of Secretary Education Mr. Fazal Ul Allah Pechuho, appointment of Teachers in Sindh Government is stopped. The decision has been taken to issue salaries to previously appointed Teachers and their record verification form NTS and Sindh University. After the salaries are issued and the process of verification is completed, the process of appointment of new teachers will be started.
Captured plot of High Secondary School recovered
District Sijawal, Mirpur Bathoro: Higher Secondary School plot is recovered during the visit of Assistant Commissioner. People had built their houses on the school plot. On the directives of A.C, about 50 houses have been ruined to restore school plot.

No implementation of 10% quota in Private Schools; Notice to Secretary Education
Hyderabad: On the Petition of Advocate Kamran Hesbani Sindh High Court Circuit Bench Hyderabad has issued notice to Chief Secretary and Secretary Education on non-implementation of 10% quota in the Private Schools. Petitioner has coated decision of Sindh Assembly in 2013; according to that Private Schools have to reserve 10% for poor and marginalized students to get admission in Private Schools. Secondly, government schools and colleges do not have libraries and play grounds and many of the schools are without parks, so the students have to face difficulties. Court has demanded to reserve and implement 10% quota.
