‘Rs1.80bn for schools upgrade’

Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood says Rs1.80 billion funds have been released to district governments for up-grading state-run schools in the province. Speaking in the Punjab Assembly during Question Hour he said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had instructed all the district coordination officers (DCOs) to consult the parliamentarians concerned in the district coordination committees, whether from opposition or treasury, for up-grading the schools, appointing watchmen and constructing their boundary walls where necessary.

Punjab Assembly: Law on private schools’ regulator soon

The government is planning to table a bill in the provincial assembly which will ensure regulation and monitoring of private schools by a private schools’ commission. By objecting the Court orders for restoration of 321 suspended Teachers, Secretary Education Mr. Fazal Ul Allah Pechuho has issued directives to the concerned Education officers to re-investigate the matter of 321 Ghost Teachers. It is critical matter that many out of 321 Suspended Teachers are retired, but action is taken against them without looking at genuine Ghost Teachers. A.C Hyderabad claims to functionalize 46 Ghost Schools and notice to 150 Teachers

Assistant Commissioner Mr. Inayat Ali Shah has claimed that during his visits of rural schools of Hyderabad and other areas, he had found 46 Ghost Schools; by taking immediate action he has restored them by issuing show cause notice to 150 Ghost Teachers. KU fails to announce results of supplementary exam

Hundreds of supplementary exam students remained in disarray as Karachi University (KU) Examination Department failed to announce the result before admission this year. This year supplementary exams were held after a long period of seven years. KU Controller Examination Arshad Azmi had earlier said that the process of results would be expedited to facilitate students and had told the reason of holding the examination to save one year of the students.
