Misuse of funds: HEC asks varsities to ensure transparency in laptop scheme

The federal government’s scheme of providing laptops to students has hit a low after it was revealed that the project has been marred by mismanagement from varsities as at some places, faculty members and employed students were facilitated by the scheme. Democracy and education

Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget, who died in 1980, said, “Only education is capable of saving societies from collapse, whether violent or gradual.” Almost the entire world, save apparently for Pakistan, has been aware of the significance of education and its direct link with development and elimination of all malpractices in society.

Rickety school vans

I pick my sister from school daily and have observed that how insecure school vans are for children. Most of these vans I usually see are in bad shape which puts children’s lives at risk.

I am a school!

I don’t know what I have done wrong; I am a school without any teachers and with empty rooms. I can’t welcome student by opening my gates. I am a school located in the village of Ahmedpur Dera Nawab, Bahawalpur. I had been inaugurated by the government about 5 years back but am still waiting for faculty and other staff to come.

The purpose of education

Education is fundamental right of every citizen and the main purpose of education system is to produce civilized persons and unfortunately now education system is forgetting its basic purpose.
