Over 100 Mohmand schools to be closed

The Fata Secretariat will close about 102 government schools under the rationalisation programme in Mohmand Agency. Mohmand physical supervisor of the education department Ismail Khan said the government schools not fulfilling the enrolment ratio and proper distance criteria would be closed and merged into other schools in the area. “The programme‘s purpose is to optimise the use of government resources,” he added.

4th Islamabad Literary Festival to commence from April 15

Protesters dispersed: Four demands of Sindh Teachers that led to their thrashing

STEVTA accused of misusing funds

This refers to the editorial, ‘Educational equations’ (March 31). Principals and headmasters of educational institutions are appointed on the basis of seniority, not merit. Any college teacher in Grade-19 is eligible to become principal of a college, and any schoolteacher in Grade-17 can become headmaster of a secondary school. Usually, political favourites are appointed to these prestigious posts.

Government & private school curriculum must be the same: Saeeda Haseena


Chota Lahore: The government and private school curriculum must be same because due to differences in the curriculum both students and their parents are confused. District Mirpurkhas: The Chairman Sindh Text Book Board and Special Secretary Education Department Sindh, Mr. Syed Zakir Ali Shah has said while praising efforts of the Secretary Education that improvement seems due to other cadre system in the department. He added that more than 3 coror free text books were distributed among 45 lac students of primary and secondary level. He declared that 6000 ghost employees were fired from the department after the installation of biometric verification system.
