After the floods: Standing committee urges Govt. to reconstruct schools
The K-P Assembly Standing Committee on Elementary and Secondary Education has criticised the federal government for ignoring the reconstruction of schools devastated by floods in 2005. PMDC cautions students about enrolment ban
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), the regulator for medical and dental education and practice in the country, has cautioned students against getting admission to medical and dental colleges, where fresh enrolments are banned. According to PMDC acting registrar Dr Syed Azhar Ali Shah, candidates should refrain from seeking admission to such medical and dental colleges, where fresh enrolments are banned. CADD notifies retirement of FDE director general
The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), has notified the retirement of Director General (DG) Federal Directorate of Education (FDE). In a notification available with Daily Times, the CADD notified the retirement of DG, FDE Shahnaz Riaz. "On attaining the age of superannuation Dr Shahnaz Riaz shall stand retired from government services with effect from October 10, 2016. Her date of birth is December 18, 1956”, reads the notification.

The abysmal state of public education
The decision by Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif to construct 10,000 additional classrooms in the province comes in the background of an abysmal education system that has failed to produce learned citizens. Not only does Pakistan have a lack of qualified workforce, but even the major part that is ostensibly qualified do not have the knowledge to match their qualification. Essentially, education in Pakistan has been reduced to nothing more than the mere acquisition of a degree.

Violence in Educational Institutes is not acceptable: Mushtaq Ghani
Peshawar: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information & Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has taken an action against 7000 employees and dismissed them who were accused of doing violence on children and has poor performance record.
