Malakand varsity announces BA/BSc exam results

HOL School opened with Japanese support

H.E. 45 campuses, over 3,000 colleges working illegally, Senate panel told

About 45 university campuses and over 3,000 colleges are working illegally across the country that either have no affiliation with universities or have not obtained no-objection certificates. Currently, nearly 3,328 colleges offering degrees have neither affiliation with the universities nor have got no-objection certificates from the regulatory body of higher education.

Only 93 out of 138 universities campuses legal: HEC

Higher   education   commission  said  that 138   campuses   of  171  universities  are  located  all over  the  Pakistan but  only 93  campuses are registered and legal  otherwise are not  registered. Sargodha University is affiliated with 498 colleges out of which are illegal.

Has Punjab really achieved 87pc enrolment target at primary level?

According to the data obtained by The News from Punjab School Education Department, with the enrolment of 3,848,384 (3.8 million) children at primary level the department has achieved 87 per cent of the target in the first phase of the enrolment drive which continued till May 31, 2015. One wonders as to why the Schools Department is reflecting enrolment at private schools, religious seminaries and non-formal centres in its enrolment achievement?

Record increase in education budget, says Mujtaba

Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said the government has provided funds on priority basis for the development of education sector and record increase has been made in the budget of education in phases. Girls top PU BA, BSc exams

Girls bagged five out of the six top positions in the BA, BSc examination 2015, according to an announcement by the Punjab University on Thursday. Ayesha Khan (roll No 11079) remained overall first by securing 699 marks in BSc, followed by Hafsa (roll No 39354) and Fasahat Fatima (roll No 11818) who got 695 and 675 marks to secure second and third positions.

Education Budget Takes A Hit

The government has very calmly decided to scale down the education budget from the projected 7 per cent of the GDP to 4 per cent, as was promised in the National Education Policy (NEC) 2009. Why? Because the projected GDP allocation for the education sector in 2009 is ‘irrational’. Therefore, the government in consultation with the provinces is planning downward revision of the GDP allocation.
