Chief Minister Pervez Khattak announces Rs. 1m cash prize for students of government schools making it to top ten

Peshawar: The Chief Minister Parvez Khattak on Sunday announced a Rs1 million cash prize for all those students of public sector government schools who make it top ten position holders in their respective BISE in the province. This cash prize will be in addition to the merit scholarships and other prizes awarded as usual.  Every year each of the eight BISE’s in KP is awarding a National talent scholarship of Rs.10,000 per month for two years to the  top twenty-five position holders i.e science Group-I7 and Humanities/Arts Group-8, but this announcement is exclusively for the students of government schools where mostly the poor parents sent their children.

Demand for transfer of DEO Education

Chitral: The Mayor of district Fakhir-ud-din and popular Social Worker Ibad-ur-Rehman demanded from the government to transfer DEO Education on somewhere else. FATA students lament on lack of education facilities

Peshawar: Speaking at a news conference at the press club on Friday, FATA Students Organization (FSO) President Shaukat Aziz informed that the office bearers and members of the organization had paid their visits to various tribal agencies and frontier regions and prepared a report on the lack of basic education facilities in FATA. According to the report, almost 1,500 educational institutions had been badly destroyed due to the current operation against militancy in FATA, and as a consequence, children were deprived of their education while the government was less bothered to rehabilitate these schools. He maintained that educational institutions in FATA lack furniture, drinking water, electricity and bathrooms while owing to non-availability of learning institutions in the areas, more than 100 students are accommodated in a single classroom. He said there was a dearth of schools in the tribal belt while the existent educational institutions were made in far-flung mountainous areas, almost inaccessible for children."Around 40 percent teachers do not serve their duties in remote tribal areas and due to less qualified and untrained teachers, students are not being provided with quality education," he alleged, adding that the students in some far-flung areas had still not received any books.

District Mastung: A Large number of ghost teachers and schools are revealed in Mastung. while the Educational emergency in the province is proved useless. District Zhob: Absent, ghost and substitute teachers are unable to bear in Education department said by Assistant Commissioner Sherani Mr. Zaffarullah and DEO Mr. Muhammad Saleem . Teachers’ Provincial level protest against privatization of schools

District Lahore: The Government of Punjab has faster to hand over the Government Schools to Punjab Education Foundation and Danish Authorities. After privatization of 2000 schools, 300 more schools will be handed over to Danish Authorities and 500 schools in 3rd phase after Eid. In its response Teachers have decided to protest after Eid at the provincial level.

2000 government schools will be handed over to PEF in the second phase

District Lahore: As per the notification issued by Education Department more than 2000 Government schools having less than 20 students and showing below 25% result will be handed over to the Punjab Education Foundation in the second phase. 350 million funds released for school facilities
