Bannu University Teaching Staff holds protest against administration

MARDAN: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that there is no dearth of talent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA ; there is a need to focus on the promotion of education. He expressed these views while presiding over the 8th meeting of the Senate of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) held here on Wednesday. The senate session of the institution was attended by Prof. Dr. Javed of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan; representatives of the provincial higher education department and other members were also present. On the occasion, the KPK governor said that the AWKU has achieved remarkable progress in a short span of time. He added that 35 faculties have been launched after completing infrastructural development projects for the campus in a span of three and half year which is worthy of appreciation. Meanwhile, the governor also inaugurated a newly constructed academic block at the campus. He also unveiled a book titled "Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ki Lisaniyat ke Asli Maakhaz\" and while addressing the faculty members and the students of the university on this occasion, the governor said that we are all bound to ensure the education of the incoming generations.

Teachers protest over nonpayment of salary

Karak: Teachers and other employees of Working Folks Grammar Schools in Karak district have not received their salaries for several months. They held a symbolic protest at the Working Folks Grammar School; male and female section staff participated in the protest, demanding their salaries and an extension in their contracts. Female teachers should be appointed in Girls Inter College: Muslim League (Q)

District Qilla Abdullah: PMLQ held a meeting under the presidency of Mr. Bakhtiyar Khan in which other party officials also participated. Female Clerical staff to be instated for Female Colleges

Female students at educational institutes including Government Girls Higher Secondary Schools and   Government College for Women in Khanka Sharif have complained that their parents are prohibited from entering the building, while male clerical staff works in the institute. 70 percent Colleges run by In Charge Principals: SPLA

Hyderabad: The members of Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association have expressed their concern at a press conference by the Education Minister and the Secretary Education, that they would appreciate improvements in education, but their demands should also be considered seriously. 3000 posts of 18, 19 and 20 grades teachers are currently vacant. Students are facing a serious shortage of teachers especially in rural colleges; similarly, teachers’ legal demands are not being accepted. Lecturers appointed in 2000 are still in same grade after seventeen years. 70% Colleges in Sindh are running through in charge principals as a result of corruption. Principals are forced to pay 2 to 3 lac rupees to get posting orders.

The residents have protested before the local Press Club, demanding that SMC funds be allocated to provide basic facilities.

Chief Monitoring Officer visits Schools

District nawabshah: The Chief Monitoring Officer Nawabshah had paid a surprise visit to different School of Benizirabad, including Primary School Ali Bux Zardari, High School Mashaaq, Girls Primary School Abdul Hameed Mashaq, Primary School Abdul Majeed Rind and others. Thirty one teachers were foundabsent from duty and a report was sent to the Secretary Education, indicating their absence .
