Provincial lawmakers not focusing on education

Not a single cabinet minister from the Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments could score an ‘A’ on the ‘Midterm Report Card for Members of the Provincial Assembly’, while the cabinets of Punjab and Balochistan only had one ‘A’ each. Ombudsman orders reconsidering decision of school merger

District Dera Ghazi Khan: The Punjab Ombudsman has issued orders to the Education Department Dera Ghazi Khan to reconsider the decision to merge the Government Girls Primary School Faridabad into the High School Khayaban-e-Sarwar because the merger is being done in a school which is 2 kilometers away and this will cause serious problems for little girls to commute the new school.

Students tortured for witnessing a procession

District Rahim Yar Khan: A school teacher, in presence of headmaster, tortured three students for going away from school to witness a rally.  The students fainted and the parents took them to the hospital. Teachers continued protest on 10th day against nonpayment of salaries

Government schools vanishing day by day; private schools have occupied their place

Hyderabad: The Government Schools in Punjab, KPK, Balochistan and Sindh are decreasing day by day due to private schools. The condition of education all over Pakistan is going worse due to fading-away of government schools and increasing number of private schools in every street of the cities. Parents also take interest to send their children to private schools due to poor standard of education in government schools, but they have to face problems of high fees of the private institutes. The government schools do not have facilities of drinking water; acute shortage of teaches in schools have devalued standard; most of the schools do not have compound walls. The parents have demanded from government to form a policy to upgrade government schools so that poor students can get standard education.
