Darkness Dawns: Govt. schools lack electricity, rely on illegal connections

 At least 48% government schools are without electricity on the outskirts of Peshawar district. This was stated in a report issued by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Independent Monitoring Unit in March. According to the report, around 40% schools across the province do not have a power supply.

UNHCR rehabilitates 31 Primary Schools

BISP to enrol two million beneficiary children by Dec 2016: Marvi

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has set the target to enroll two million children of beneficiaries in schools by the end of this year. Shehbaz takes notice of wrong map in textbook

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday took notice of news published in a section of press regarding disparity in the maps of Pakistan published in the textbooks of Pakistan Studies and Urdu of 5th class. HEC Chairman under scrutiny  

 Lahore High Court Justice Shahid Karim gave time to the federal government for filing reply to a petition challenging appointment of Dr Mukhtar Ahmad Ahmad as chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC). Evaluating Performance: Monitors inducted to keep a check on schools

In a bid to keep a check on the progress of schools and evaluate performance of teachers, the government has inducted 225 assistant monitors in 16 districts of the province. The education and literacy department has set up a directorate of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to maintain quality of education and progress of teachers. The examination centre for the 1st Year students of Degree college Wahi Pandhi, Taluka Johi, District Dadu, has been established at the Degree College Johi which is at a distance of 40 km from Wahi Pandhi, for the reason that their own institution (Degree College Wahi Pandhi) is still under construction and that there are only wall without a roof top.

Failure of the NTS By ‘S.P.K Phullan’

It is really painful to see that the National Testing Service (NTS) has completely failed to announce results of Punjab School Education Department (PSED). According to the students the applications were taken February 15 and the test was conducted on 18th, 19th and 20th March in which about 600,000 students applied for different posts according to their own interest. Each student was charged Rs 475 for the application – which means NTS has collected more than Rs 285,000,000 from applicants.

Urdu in the Maliyya University of Delhi

When the national language of Pakistan was based the immediate reason of this was the establishment of English medium schools in the country.  Many issues where seen when we conducted survey in this regard one thing is that books of science and medical are in English. Usmaniya University of Hyderabad and Maliyya University of Delhi have still teaching science and medical in Urdu.

Four masked attackers attack on Katlung government school

Katlung: The Unidentified four masked attackers attacked on the government higher Secondary school Dheri Kalpani Katlung, which foiled by the guard through return fire suddenly and the attackers could not succeed to enter the school. The announcement was made through the mosques and hundreds of peoples and parents cordoned the school with arms and rescue the children safely.

Five month salaries should be issued to NTS teachers: GTA

District Jhal Magsi: The General Secretary GTA district Jahl-Magi Mr. Ali Hassan Nechari along with other members said that due to negligence of treasury department NTS pass teachers are still wondering over roads and protesting for salaries and their legitimate rights. They said due to delay in salaries issuance NTS teachers are facing financial predicaments.
