Ex-CJ visits Bacha Khan University

Pakistan’s former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said here on Thursday that the local villagers’ support to the law-enforcement agencies during the attack on the Bacha Khan University showed that the terrorists would be defeated soon. GB to obtain land for girl’s hostel from Punjab

The Punjab government has agreed to provide a piece of land to the Gilgit-Baltistan government to construct a 500-room hostel for women studying in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. According to a statement issued by the Governor House on Thursday, the agreement was reached between G-B Governor Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore.

FBISE's SSC exams to begin next month

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examinations Part I and II under the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) will begin next month. Teacher, two students injured by parent

At least two schoolchildren and a teacher were shot and injured in Gujar Khan on Thursday by another student’s father. Eyewitnesses said Intizar Hussain and his accomplices forced their way into Government Boys High School Darkali Syedan in the Jatli area of Gujjar Khan and attacked and thrashed school teacher Naeem Kazmi, who had scolded Hussain’s son Waqas, a ninth grader who had not done his homework.

E-Squad for educational institutions

An Educational Squad (E-Squad) consisting of 50 members would perform security duties around all the educational institutions in the city and Cantonment areas, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dall said on Thursday. The DCO said that with the collaboration of civil defense and district police a 50-member E-squad including 30 male and 20 females would be recruited to perform duties in the city.

Haiku education workshop ends at NUML

A three-day Haiku Education Workshop concluded at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) here on Thursday. The Embassy of Japan, in collaboration with the Pakistan Haiku Society and National University of Modern Languages (NUML), organised the three-day Haiku Education Workshop from February 16 to 18 at the NUML. Adeeb Javedani, Chairman Private Schools Association, has said that the order passed for fool proof security of private schools is non-constitutional. He has also filed a petition against this order in the Lahore High court. Lahore High court has also directed the government to resolve this issue within a week. IT department for NSSSH approved
