Students demand UET campus in Swat

Two years on, still no sign of scholarship money
Hundreds of students of grade five and eight, who had qualified for scholarships in 2013-14, are yet to receive their cash awards from the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE). According to the FDE, 40,000 students appeared for scholarship exams conducted by the FDE in 2013 and 2014.

FMDC submits undertaking to PMDC

Pleas against textbook board admitted
The Lahore High Court has admitted for regular hearing two petitions blaming the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board for rule violation in a tender floated for the purchase of 500 metric tons offset printing paper and 8,000 metric tons offset printing paper for academic session 2016-2017. The total value of the paper sought to be purchased was about Rs750 million.

Children of Pakistani Christians burnt to death get free education
Last November a mob lynched and burnt to death a Christian couple, over alleged blasphemy, leaving behind four orphans. Pakistan based Catholic charity in Lahore, Cecil and Iris Chaudhry Foundation (CICF) decided to take responsibility of providing the children with an education.

Peshawar: Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has ordered to accomplish and improve the condition of government schools in two months and within two months all the requirements of 200 Schools will be fulfilled. However out of these 200 schools, the work on restoration and re-establishment on 70 schools have been done. Corruption in checking of Security Cameras in Government Schools (Article by: Maqsood Ahmed Sindhoo, Ausaf Bureau Chief Chichawatni)
District Sahiwal:A gang is tempering with security cameras and making money by charing inspection fees from the management of government schools and none is taking action against them. This gang has received RS.9000/- per school in the name of DPO and DCO Sahiwal. The matter was brought to the notice of the EDO, but he did not take any action. This gang charged RS.1500/- from about 80 schools in the name of linking the security cameras with the DPO and DCO offices. This gang also detained the female staff of the girls schools till 5 pm and harassed them and extorted money from them. This gang enters into any school without any advance notice and begins its work. The EDO, when contacted, said that the government had not assigned any such work to any team. Nazr Mohammed DEO refused to give his version. The experts have said that these gangs cannot have access to the security cameras of schools without the support of the internal staff of the Education Department.
