Three physically challenged siblings on Tuesday demanded of the social welfare department to provide the required facilities, including staff, to the deaf and dumb children school in Timergara. The school is run in a three-room rented building on its third floor in congested Timergara city, making it difficult for physically handicapped students to reach it easily.

Scholarships named after APS victims

KP Police following Punjab counterparts, shoot dead student at barrier

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police shot a young student for not stopping at the police barrier.

The Punjab police had last month shot two brothers in Rawalpindi in the same manner.

As per details, the police personnel of Mairpur station deployed  at the barrier cautioned the young motorist to stop for identification. The student did not stop and the police while considering him suspect shot at him.

Disregard of rules hurting NUML faculty, education standards

Students should apply to registered medical colleges

280,000 illiterate people to be made literate

District Rahim Yar Khan: The Punjab Government has decided to launch a pilot project in ten districts including Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Okara, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Muzaffargarh to make 280,000 illiterate persons literate.  The pilot project will be expanded to the whole of Punjab in the second phase.  The budget of the Literacy Project has been increased to RS.2400 Million from RS.300 Million annually.
