Over 5,000 register for KMU test

In total, 5,839 candidates have registered online for the 2015 entry test for private and public sector colleges affiliated with Khyber Medical University. According to the statement, 3,682 men and 2,157 women registered. At least 3,705 candidates have registered at the examination centre in the provincial capital.

Militants destroy school in Bara

Militants blew up a government primary school in Nala Malakdin khel area of Bara in the wee hours of Thursday. According to official figures, 97 educational institutions were extensively damaged and another 45 partially damaged in militant attacks on schools in Bara sub-division since 2009.

Rawalpindi govt schools to have IT laboratories soon

The Rawalpindi Education Department will set up IT laboratories in more than 60 government schools of Rawalpindi District.  IT laboratories at the cost of Rs 200 million will be set up in 990 high schools of Punjab province and 60 laboratories will be provided to high schools and higher secondary schools in Rawalpindi District.

PU among top 10 universities of world

In international ranking of more than 20,000 universities of the world conducted by Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain, Punjab University has secured 15th position in South Asia, which is a landmark achievement while it has topped among all Pakistani universities. According to the new ranking, PU has obtained 1899th position out of more than 20,000 universities and now it is among the top 10 universities of the world.

The issue of bifurcating Sindh Education in two parts

Karachi: The Education and Works Department was merged into Education Department, but it did not work. It is reported that Secretary Education Mr. Fazal Ul Allah Pechuho has given nine different cadres, whereas Education in Punjab was bifurcated in three parts having different secretaries for each. On the other hand Secretary Education has said that he was not hurdle in the ways of bifurcating Education into two parts; he had sent summary to Chief Minister Sindh for approval of appointment of Secretaries.
